چکیده

Although many Plant growth promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) are used commercially, there is a need to explore more biocontrol agents combat various pathogens and sustain the productivity of crops. PGPRs inhabit rhizosphere region plant effective in managing pathogens. In this study, twenty-six PGPR isolates were screened in-vitro against fungal phytopathogens Bacteriological Laboratory, Department Pathology, Bidhan Chandra Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Mohanpur, Nadia, West Bengal during 2021-22. All thirteen native Bacillus isolates, showed antagonistic activity Alternaria alternata, Colletotrichum gloeosporioides, Pestalotiopsis sp., Rhizoctonia solani Sclerotium rolfsii. Among fluorescent pseudomonads, all A. C. gloeosporioides eight, CK2LPP, CK2LP8, CK2LP12, GP2, GP8, G11SP37, K11SP4 S21SP14, R. solani, two, GP2 S. BRB 42, 56, PR 18, GP8 had highest under condition based on average mycelium inhibition per cent. SM 9 maximum zone phytopathogens.

Multitrait plant growth promoting (PGP) rhizobacterial isolates from Brassica juncea rhizosphere

Plant growth promoting (PGP) rhizobacteria, a beneficial microbe colonizing plant roots, enhanced crop productivity and offers an attractive way to replace chemical fertilizers, pesticides, and supplements. The keratinous waste which comprises feathers, hairs, nails, skin and wool creates problem of solid waste management due to presence of highly recalcitrant keratin. The multi traits rhizobac...

Biocontrol of late blight and plant growth promotion in tomato using rhizobacterial isolates.

Seven bacterial isolates (viz., AB05, AB10, AB11, AB12, AB14, AB15, and AB17) were derived from the rhizosphere and evaluated in terms of plant growth-promoting activities and the inhibition of Phytophthora infestans affecting tomatoes in Korea. According to 16S rDNA sequencing, a majority of the isolates are members of Bacillus, and a single isolate belongs to Paenibacillus. All seven isolates...

Genetic manipulation of plant growth-promoting bacteria to enhance biocontrol of phytopathogens.

Plant growth-promoting bacteria (PGPB) control the damage to plants from phytopathogens by a number of different mechanisms including: outcompeting the phytopathogen, physical displacement of the phytopathogen, secretion of siderophores to prevent pathogens in the immediate vicinity from proliferating, synthesis of antibiotics, synthesis of a variety of small molecules that can inhibit phytopat...

RNA Biology in Fungal Phytopathogens

RNA-dependent processes are essential to determine when, where, and how much of a protein is synthesized. In eukaryotes, these processes start with transcription in the nucleus and end with mRNA translation at distinct cytoplasmic sites followed by mRNA degradation [1]. In between, a number of defined steps occur such as 59 capping, splicing, polyadenylation, nuclear export, and cytoplasmic tra...
